Recovery Actions

The Brazilian legislation points out the following techniques to restore the forest, what can be done uniting them or using only one.

  1. Natural regeneration of native species;
  2. Planting native species;
  3. Planting native species and natural regeneration of those species;
  4. Intercropping of woody species, perennial or long-cycle species, exotics, with native occurrences up to 50% (fifty per cent) of the whole area to be restore, depending on the property (size or family owned).

The success of the reforesting project will happen through the growth of the tree seedlings, helping the present natural regeneration and generating the return of the original environment conditions. The actions taken for the Forest Restoration of Sitio Rosalina will be:

  1. Planting native seedlings for a higher covering of the soil;

  2. Observation of the natural regeneration inside the regeneration area, as the discovery of forest near the deployment area (genetic flow for the natural regeneration) and it’s protection;

  3. Reduction and eradication of the invasive exotic species;

  4. Isolation of restoration area.

Before start planting, we will establish the species that will be part of the restoration process of the area, through the following means:

Identifying the species that are native from the regeneration area, being that possible with the forest inventory that have as its aim identifying and counting the species.

Look into the public archive to find information about the region. In this case we will use the information from Farms ‘s Arataú forest management plan, that it’s located 25 km from Sítio Rosalina, whose holder of the Sustainable Forest Management Project is the company Juruá Florestal Ltda.
